Family Studies - Relationship Development

I was very excited when there was still room for this class and I actually got in!!!
I enjoy taking Nellis' classes, as I enjoy his teaching strategies - I also am quite enthralled with the topics that are discussed!

Relationship development to me is something that is so important and I don't believe that people put enough emphasis on its importance on relationships.  Relationships between partners, parent - child, student teacher, sibling etc.  I believe that relationships are what hold people together - keep people grounded and keep them good people and without that relationship you rely, depend on and love - you have no reason to be grounded, or accountable for yourself.

Dictionary.com defines a relationship as:

re·la·tion·ship

  [ri-ley-shuhn-ship]  Show IPA
noun
1.
a connection, association, or involvement.
2.
connection between persons by blood or marriage.
3.
an emotional or other connection between people: therelationship between teachers and students.
4.
a sexual involvement; affair.

I agree with  all four possible definitions - but most importantly just the fact of having connection or involvement with another human being - means you have a relationship.  That is a lot of people - therefore, this goes back to my reasoning as to why more importance needs to be put on relationships in general.
